
Paleoart Center
The Paleoart Center was founded by Professor Ekaterina Georgievna Devlet (August 16, 1965 – August 23, 2018) as an interdisciplinary association of specialists studying ancient art.
The Center's activities focus on the study of early and medieval art based on archaeological materials. Emphasis is placed on a multidisciplinary approach to researching objects and the use of modern documentation and visualization tools.
Priority research areas:
Technical, technological, and stylistic features of visual materials;
Study of pigments and raw material sources;
Possibilities of applying natural science research methods to solving problems in the study and preservation of archaeological sites;
Monitoring and studying rock art sites using modern non-contact documentation methods.
