We invite you to take part at the Round Table meeting «Archeology of food resources globalization: millet culture in Eurasia», which will be held on October 29, 2026 at the Institute of Archaeology of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Moscow, Dm. Ulyanova st., 19, 2nd floor, office 50) and the platform Yandex.Telemost
One of the most striking and large-scale topics that can be considered in the context of studying the globalization of food resources is the history of the origin and spread of cultivated millet in Eurasia. The goal of the seminar is to collect and discuss materials, data, and concepts related to the spread of cultivated millet across Russia from the Far East to the Baltic region during the Neolithic, Early Metal Age, and Early Iron Age, Early Medieval time in the context of cultural interactions in Eurasia. We are interested in bringing together a wide range of professionals, including archaeologists, natural scientists, and specialists in statistical modeling, databases, and GIS.
All papers will be published on an equal basis in a collection—an electronic peer-reviewed publication of the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI), which will be released before or immediately after the seminar.
